Technical Overview
The Enquire solution is an n-tier application built on the Java platform. The application utilises a modern application architecture providing a zero-footprint application client deployment model and a highly scalable service oriented server deployment capability.
Application functionality is delivered through service components that can be bundled and deployed in a variety of configurations based on business’ current and or future requirements.
Structured data is persisted to the MySQL RDBMS in a master-slave configuration.
Document storage is persisted to the file system within the cloud environment.
Hosted Cloud System
The Enquire solution is hosted on AWS infrastructure through commercial agreements between AWS and Tactiv.
Tactiv has Business Support Plan Agreements with AWS.
This ensures Tactiv has:

With guaranteed response times:
- Production system down: < 1 hour
- Production system impaired: < 4 hours
- System impaired: < 12 hours
Enquire deployments for Australian based Government clients are hosted in Australia at AWS data centres in Sydney.
Multiple availability zones which have separate physical locations are used to support redundancy, back-up and disaster recovery, which are also based in Australia.
The Enquire hosting architecture is composed within a Virtual Private Cloud which provision a logically isolated section of data centre infrastructure.
Enquire determines the resources used within a virtual networking environment, including hardware assets, IP address range, creation of subnets and configuration of route tables and network gateways.
The Enquire solution transmits all network data over SSL, encrypted using SHA_256 with SHA2 for message authentication and DHE_RSA as the key exchange mechanism, which ensures that the communication channel is secure between the Enquire solution and the client. 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256) is the largest key size defined for AES.
Within the secured network where the Enquire solution is hosted, all data is stored encrypted on disk.

Enquire Shared Infrastructure
This uses Enquire’s shared infrastructure provisioned.
Dedicated Cloud Infrastructure
Dedicated Cloud Infrastructure provisions dedicated hosting and compute resources for a client’s tenancy as well as a logical separation of data.
In all cloud offerings, Tactiv administer the commercial relationship with the IaaS provider and provide full support and maintenance for Enquire under a Software as a Service hosted agreement.
